Moving In? Don't Forget Anything with Our Ultimate Checklist

Hey, Redbirds, ready to rock the new school year with us? We can't wait to welcome you all to the SAMI fam, whether it's your first time, or you've stuck with us for another year! To make sure your move-in experience is nothing short of a breeze, we've got a quick checklist for you to keep things stress-free!

 

CHECK OUT YOUR TENANT PORTAL

First up, let's talk about your Tenant Portal! Consider this your new home base -- from rent payments to maintenance requests, this is where you do it all. Make sure you're able to get logged in and feel comfortable with the dashboard so you're ready to go! If you need any help finding your login or navigating the site, give us a call, and our team will be happy to lend a helping hand!

 

CONFIRM YOUR PAYMENT SCHEDULE

Don't forget to confirm your payment schedule from your lease and add it to your calendar ahead of time! Our staff should have given you a reminder of the monthly payment schedule when you signed your lease -- if you're missing it, let us know! You'll want to be on top of things, since your August payment must be made before picking up your keys. Need help making a payment or scheduling recurring ones? PICK UP THOSE KEYS!

Speaking of keys, let's get to the moment we've all been waiting for! You should get a notice via email letting you know when you can expect your keys to be ready for you. After that, you'll swnig by our office during business hours, and we'll get them handed over! And if you don't want to come in, you can even give us a call, and one of our friendly team members will bring them right to your car! Curbside delivery at its finest.

 

GET A PARKING STICKER

Don't forget the parking sticker! Keep an eye out from an email for us regarding their arrival. You'll want to be sure to apply it to your car right away, so you don't have any trouble with parking enforcement. UNDERSTAND YOUR RENTERS INSURANCE

While SAMI has always strongly suggested that our tenants obtain renters insurance, our leases will now require renters insurance for anyone signing a lease for the '24-25 school year and beyond. If you did not opt out by 7/1, you now have renters insurance directly through SAMI! You can find out more information here. 

 

 

SCHEDULE A MOVE IN INSPECTION

This inspection is your chance to make note of any damages in your unit that you don’t want to be held responsible for, or just to point out things that might need repaired or replaced! Once you get your keys, spend the next few days making sure everything is as it should be in your apartment. 

Then give our office a call to schedule your inspection – we'll send a member of our maintenance team out to go over everything with you and make sure any changes you need are made!
